Meet Tribalusions

Salwa -  Dancer

Salwa studied ballet for eight years, has a PhD in molecular genetics, has been married for 25 years and the mother of two children (one in college and the other in high school) Salwa has studied belly dance with Aneaj for the past four years. Some of Salwa's most memorable performances have been with Tribalusions at 94th Aero Squadron, Hipdrop Tour, NBC4 Fitness Expo, Balletmet and Qaina.

 

Aneaj - Dancer

Aneaj has trained extensively with many artists and has trained formally with Almaazah (Columbus, Ohio), Yasmina Ramsy (Toronto, Canada), and Paulette Reis Denis (Portland, Oregon). Aneaj directs Tribalusions. Her performances are from Canada to Egypt and right here at home performances such as The Hipdrop Live Tour, Hezz YaWezz, Beach Blanket Beledi , Lafayette Grill, Rakkasah East Global Art Gallery,  Lynn Alley Market, Retro/Goth.Alternative Model, NBC 4 Fitness Expo and Ahlan Wa Sahlan Festival in Egypt.


Dunya - Dancer

Dunya has studied belly dance with Aneaj for the past two years and is the newest member of Tribalusions. Dunya's first performance was at Dumbek & Dance. Dunya will be performing solos and group dance projects.

Cheb - Musician

Born in Morocco, Mounir (Cheb) began his musical career at "Le Conservatoire Du Music" to learn piano. Mounir's passion for music was noted by his friends many who were involved in playing music for weddings, Shaabi and Gnawaa events. Mounir was given his first drum at the Aissawa Festival and played with 40 drumers. As he traveled to the Morocco country sides and other Arab countries Algeria, Tunisia this led mounir to joining the Bedouin tribes which gave him a rich insight into different cultural rhythmic directions.  After Mounir moved to the U.S. He joined Tribalusions and found himself turning full circle to his first love of Egyptian drums and experimenting with tribal fusion.
